It’s that time of the year when many of our local service clubs and organizations are going full steam ahead with some fantastic community events! That wonderful cohesive, community feel which is treasured by our locals is underpinned by a calendar of events which enable us to come together and celebrate our Buderim lifestyle.
The next local event for Buderim Rotary Club is the BWMCA & Bendigo Bank Community Carols in The Park on the 8th Dec where we will once again be firing up the hotplate to sizzle up some delicious burgers. Anyone who sampled our amazing burgers at the last Carol’s event, or Jazz in The Park, will likely be lining up for more. A tasty and economical way to feed the family while enjoying the wonderful Christmas entertainment.
Australia Day is looming, and the committee is on ‘full throttle’ ensuring that next year’s event will be spectacular! We have even more delicious food vendors lined up, community displays, BWMCA licensed bar and let’s not forget the fantastic Bendigo Bank Fireworks (arguably the best on The Coast due to their close proximity to the spectators). The highlight of the event will be the awesome, live entertainment making full use of the soundshell.
It seems The Coast just can’t get enough of the awesome 70/80’s Pub Music of M7, with the dance floor always full during their set. We’re very grateful that they’ve agreed to do an extended set next year, so start working on those dance moves!
Anyone who attended Jazz in The Park will remember the lively performance by the Sunshine Blues Band who have agreed to also entertain us on Australia Day, for an upbeat start to the celebrations. After some very positive feedback this year, we’re thrilled to be welcoming back Fiona O’Shea and band with their toe-tapping country rock to get everyone up dancing.
Who can forget local soprano, Michelle Bull’s spine-chilling rendition of the National Anthem this year. For Australia Day ’25, Michelle has agreed to once again sing the National Anthem as well as one of our favourite Australian songs made famous by The Seekers, ‘I Am Australian’, for which we hope the audience will join in.
So, mark your calendars for Sunday 26th January. Grab your blankets or chairs and join your fellow Buderimites in an afternoon and evening of great entertainment, delicious food and spectacular fireworks, as we celebrate our wonderful country and the values we treasure.
The Rotary Club of Buderim would like to take this opportunity to wish our local, Buderim Community a safe, peaceful, and happy Christmas.
Merry Christmas Everyone!
