What a wonderfully hectic time of the year with many of our local service clubs and organizations going full steam ahead with some fantastic community events!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With 4556Chamber lighting up the Christmas tree in Buderim Park, Lion\u2019s Christmas Fair, Buderim Gardens Craft Fair and, of course, the wonderful Buderim Community Carols, we \u2018Buderimites\u2019 are lucky indeed to have so many dedicated volunteers working to maintain the tangible sense of community that we enjoy in Buderim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our Club will be firing up the hotplate on Dec 2nd<\/sup> at the Buderim Gardens Craft Fair, so come along and shop for some wonderful, hand-made Christmas gifts, and grab a sausage while you\u2019re there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anyone who sampled our amazing burgers at Jazz in The Park will likely be lining up for more at the Community Carols in the Park on the 10th Dec.  Above average burger for a below average price \u2013 a tasty and economical way to feed the family while enjoying the wonderful Christmas entertainment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our Youth Director, Paul, has been canvassing local schools to remind them of the great Rotary programs available designed to assist our local youth in navigating the pathway to responsible, successful, and fulfilling adulthood.  Our Club is proud to support our successful applicant, Oscar Betteridge, to participate in the Rotary Youth Transition Seminar.  RYTS is a leadership & development program with a focus on assisting the transition from one area of study into the next phase of life.  The program is delivered at a 6-day residential camp for students who are in the senior years of school.  Participants will hear from inspiring guest speakers and participate in activities that will challenge them on many different levels.  The program covers personal growth, teamwork, self-awareness and practical skills for life after school. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elizabeth Setchell, a student at MFAC, will be supported by our Club to attend the National Youth Science Forum next year.  This forum is conducted over ten days and is designed to encourage and inform those students keen to pursue a future in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the last edition of the BWMCA Newsletter we were happy to welcome new members Malcolm and Peter to our Club, and since then we have inducted another two Members, Paul Marek and Mark Allen.  As you would expect from a Rotary Club known for its friendly and welcoming demeanour, our new members have been welcomed with open arms and are keen to become involved with our community activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Australia Day is looming, and the committee is on \u2018full throttle\u2019 ensuring that next year\u2019s event will be spectacular!  We have an array of delicious food vendors, community displays, BWMCA licensed bar and let\u2019s not forget the fantastic Bendigo Bank Fireworks (arguably the best on The Coast due to their close proximity to the spectators).  The highlight of the event will be the awesome, live entertainment making full use of the soundshell.  With the likes of Jazella & Chris Ah Gee, Fiona O\u2019Shea, Sugarbag Blonde, and M7, the talent is outstanding.  Michelle Bull will be performing the National Anthem as night falls leading into the fireworks spectacular backed by some great Aussie music.  Then\u2026dance the night away to our local favourites, M7.  There\u2019s no better way to celebrate Australia Day!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
